Your humanity is the medicine.

Adria Moses

Adria Moses has been finding her way back to herself since she was 11 years old — through poetry, through journaling, through the quiet insistence that writing something down makes it survivable.

That instinct deepened into something more embodied after an emergency bowel resection left her on life support. She survived. What came after — the wound, the scar, the strange grief of a body that no longer felt like hers — led her to yoga. Not as a wellness practice, but as a reclamation. A way of returning to herself on her own terms. She came to understand that the body is not just something that happens to us. It is something we can come home to.

That is the work she has been doing ever since — for herself, and for everyone who finds their way to her.

"I learned I could use my body to heal, recover, and restore. Everything I teach comes from that."

Adria grew up in Inkster, Michigan — the daughter of a painter. Her mother created beauty under conditions that made beauty an act of resistance. She taught Adria, without ever naming it as such, that art is not decoration. It is how you survive. It is how you insist on your own humanity when the world around you is trying to take it.

She taught her to make happy mistakes. That lesson is in everything Adria creates.

Adria is the founder of the School of Radical Healing, where she has led trauma-informed cohort programs for six years, drawing participants from across the globe. She is an E-RYT 200 yoga guide, a Yoga Alliance accredited trauma-informed yoga teacher trainer, a certified prenatal yoga guide, a former birth doula, a former lululemon ambassador, a pilates lead, and a workshop facilitator.

Her work has reached incarcerated communities, people experiencing and recovering from homelessness, educators, global corporations, and everyone in between. She has been trusted by organizations including LinkedIn, CUNY, and Washtenaw Promise.
